The company K. H. Bartels GmbH has been importing rehabilitation equipment for over 25 years.

We have the European distribution rights for the range of products manufactured by the Japanese company SUNWA Ltd. A pleasant and successful trading relationship has been enjoyed between the two companies for decades.

It is the philosophy of both companies to fulfill the needs of disabled persons and wheelchair users by offering a product range to create more freedom and independence for you.

The development of these products goes back to the production of stairclimbing equipment for goods, like the products that Bartels still sell successfully in the industrial area. From these products came the idea of developing a product for the Reha. sector, ie. to transport disabled persons. We are proud to be one of the first manufacturers to bring a stairclimbing device for disabled perons to the market.

Further developments have followed, such as the unique „Stairmate Major“, a stairclimbing device for disabled persons in electric wheelchairs as well as the „Carry Down“ evacuation chair to quickly and safely evacuate disabled or non-ambulent persons from buildings.

All of the equipment has been proved to meet the requirements of special international organisations worlwide (America/Japan) and has the CE sign. There is currently more than 20,000 units in use.

In many European countries such as Germany, Italy and Czechia the initial costs of this equipment are taken on by the health insurance companies.
